Share your 4-H story

At Parents for Fair 4-H, we believe every shared experience helps improve fairness, transparency, and communication within 4-H. By giving parents and youth a place to share their stories, we hope to identify patterns, encourage respectful discussion, and promote the consistent application of published policies. Our goal is to support positive change, protect every child's opportunity to participate fairly, and strengthen trust between families and 4-H programs.

Who should share their story?

We encourage parents, youth members, volunteers, club leaders, judges, Extension staff, and alumni to share their experiences. Whether your experience was positive or challenging, your story can help educate others, encourage respectful conversations, and support fairness, transparency, and consistency within 4-H. We ask everyone to share their experiences honestly, respectfully, and with supporting documentation whenever possible.

What details make your story impactful?

The most helpful stories include the date and location of the event, the project involved, what happened, what published rule or policy applied (if known), how the issue was handled, and the outcome. If possible, include supporting documentation such as emails, handbook pages, announcements, or other written communication. We encourage factual, respectful, and honest submissions that focus on informing others and helping improve fairness, transparency, and consistency within 4-H.

We want every person who shares their story to feel heard, respected, and valued. Whether their experience was positive or challenging, we hope they know their voice matters. Our goal is to create a supportive community that encourages fairness, transparency, respectful communication, and positive improvements so every child has an equal opportunity to succeed in 4-H.
